1 in 4 women are diagnosed with breast cancer. In 2007, 178,480 new cases will be diagnosed in women. The exact cause of breast cancer is not known. A woman's risk for developing breast cancer increases if two or more close relatives have a history of breast cancer. However, 85% of women who develop breast cancer have NO known family history of the disease.
